Are you passionate about video production and looking to gain hands-on experience? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Video Production Team at Quilombo UK!

With our annual Solta O Jogo coming up on the 17th (rehearsal), 18th and 19th of October, we’re looking to build a reliable and creative crew to help film this live broadcast and to collaborate on many exciting opportunities to come. We\'ve previously filmed documentaries, podcasts and informative videos for the Kingston Council, and we\'re continuing to grow our media work.

This role is especially well-suited for recent graduates or anyone looking to dust off the cobwebs and re-enter the industry, however, everyone is welcome to apply no matter your level of experience - we’re all about building confidence and developing skills within our team!

Note: This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds with filming on location and admin work from the comfort of your own home.


Role Overview

As part of the Video Production Team, you’ll support the development of video content from concept to delivery.

We are looking for a Pre-Production/Production Assistant, you’ll work alongside a diverse team of creatives to assist in filming days running smoothly. This role incorporates a mix between practical, hands-on work and admin work with lots of learning opportunities and a chance to adapt to different styles of content.


Key Responsibilities

* Assist with equipment set up before shoots, and help pack away after filming
* Maintain and manage equipment checklists to ensure all gear is accounted for and ready
* Conduct research on equipment, including sourcing options and comparing specs
* Keeping track of timings during production and helping with logistics and coordination, including location scouting and crew calls
* Providing general support to the crew, adapting to various tasks when needed
* Assist with lighting when needed
* Take notes of the quality of filming


Who We’re Looking For / Key Skills & Qualifications

* Experience: Some exposure with a least 6-12 months of experience using video cameras (desirable)
* Education: Ideally studying or holding a degree in Film, Media, or a related field (desirable)
* Enthusiastic and willing to learn, with a proactive mindset
* Creative with strong attention to detail and research and communication skills
* Problem-solving mindset and willingness to adapt on the go
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
