Purpose of the role: We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join Galliford Try on our prestigious A47 scheme. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of delivering a landmark project, ensuring construction meets the highest standards while supporting successful, defect-free completion on time and within budget.
What you will be doing:
* Implement and comply with Quality, Safety and Environmental policies, processes, and targets
* Ensure effective use of the Project Quality and document management systems
* Promote a positive quality culture across the team, supply chain and client, driving “Right First Time” and “Delivering Excellence”
* Review and manage subcontractor Quality Plans, ITPs, and pre-start requirements, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated
* Monitor site quality performance, including NCRs, defects, KPIs, handover information, and compliance with standards
* Undertake audits, produce reports, and support teams with RFIs/TQs to resolve technical issues and non-conformance
* Engage with client representatives to review, monitor, and gain acceptance of site activities
* Oversee and maintain business management procedures, including certification, updates, and continuous improvement of processes and guidance.
* Champion and embed the use of the business management system across the project, ensuring it is fully integrated into day-to-day delivery.
* Mentor team members and liaise with parent organisations to drive consistency, alignment, and best practice
* Drive continuous improvement by communicating audit outcomes, promoting customer focus through quality systems, and facilitating problem solving and process clarity
About you:
* Expertise in Business Management Systems, contractual documentation, and civil construction, backed by ISO 9001 Internal Auditor experience
* Professional knowledge and a collaborative approach to resolve quality and contractual issues, with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
* Use your tech-savviness in MS Office (including Visio) to produce clear reports and spreadsheets; full driving licence required
