Job Introduction

Job Title: Victim Liaison Officer

Working Pattern: 1 x Full-time position available.

Salary: £32,597 - £35,412

Location: Some flexibility; countywide working.

Closing Date: 26th April

Interviews: Tuesday 5th May (face to face)


About You

We are looking to recruit someone with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and with youth justice or victim focussed experience. You must be highly motivated to work with the victims of offences committed by children.


About the Role

Victim Liaison Officers (VLOs) within the Future4Me team play a vital role in ensuring victims are supported and that their views and voice are heard and embedded within decision‑making and assessment processes within Youth Justice. The VLO ensures that victims are kept informed and updated, have access to additional support as required and, where appropriate, engage in Restorative Justice processes.

VLOs must have excellent communication skills to enable engagement with, and advocacy for, a wide range of victims.

There is a small element of evening work where needed and a driving licence and car are essential for countywide travel. The position may involve working across multiple offices.

You will work with victims of offences committed by children who are dealt with via Out Of Court Resolution as well as those who receive statutory court orders.


About the Team

Future4Me is a county‑wide team focused on youth justice, diversion, victims, child exploitation, youth housing, community interventions and complex health. The team operates on a multi‑agency basis using trauma‑informed practice and restorative principles.


Responsibilities

* Ensure victims are supported and their views are embedded in decision‑making and assessment processes.
* Keep victims informed and updated, and arrange additional support as required.
* Coordinate engagement with Restorative Justice processes where appropriate.
* Advocate for a wide range of victims, using strong communication skills.
* Provide case supervision, induction and ongoing training.


Qualifications

* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
* Experience in youth justice or victim‑focused work.
* Highly motivated to support victims of child‑related offences.
* Valid driving licence and personal vehicle; willingness to travel across the county.
