Role Overview
Markerstudy Group is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to join its growing pricing department across various insurance lines. Markerstudy is a leading UK insurer, covering approximately 5% of private cars, 20% of commercial vehicles, and over 30% of motorcycles, with total premiums around £1.2 billion. The company partners with well-known brands such as Co-op, Sainsbury's, O2, Halifax, AA, Saga, and Lloyds Bank, and has recently expanded through acquisitions.
As a Senior Pricing Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
* Influencing project directions and outcomes across personal lines products.
* Creating innovative data solutions for insight and presentation.
* Building and maintaining sophisticated models using data science techniques.
* Developing automated reporting structures to monitor pricing performance.
You will work closely with retail pricing and underwriting teams, providing insights to improve products and pricing strategies in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop advanced pricing models using traditional and data science techniques for various accounts.
* Promote the adoption of data science and statistical techniques within the team.
* Research and utilize new data sources, identifying trends with innovative features.
* Communicate findings effectively to decision-makers for strategic actions.
* Review performance metrics of key accounts.
* Collaborate with pricing, underwriting, and data science teams.
* Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
* Use specialized software to monitor trends and assess pricing impacts.
* Mentor and coach team members.
Key Skills and Experience
* Experience in general insurance pricing.
* Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques such as Logistic Regression, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural Nets, and Clustering.
* Proficiency in programming languages like R, Python, PySpark, SAS, SQL.
* Quantitative degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science).
* Experience with WTW's Radar software is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
