Project and Business Development Officer
We are seeking to recruit a Project and Business Development Officer to join our busy Economy and Regeneration Service.
This is an exciting opportunity within the service, providing a chance to be part of the team delivering the Ceredigion Economic Strategy 2020-2035, aimed at enabling and providing opportunities for people and enterprises to thrive and grow in Ceredigion.
The main focus of the role is to manage and deliver the Placemaking Transforming Towns Programme in Ceredigion. If you have experience in regeneration, project management, planning, economic and business development, or community work, this could be a great fit for you.
You will play a central role in motivating Ceredigion’s communities and businesses to develop knowledge and skills, innovate, and cooperate to overcome local challenges. The tasks and workload are dynamic, and we seek individuals who demonstrate innovative thinking and respond positively to challenges with solutions. You will help shape the future of communities across the county while supporting the Council’s ambition to create thriving, people-centered, and resilient towns. A prominent local profile is essential to motivate and foster positive relations with the community and support places that meet their needs and aspirations.
On a daily basis, you will:
1. Coordinate, facilitate, and manage the delivery of the Placemaking Transforming Town Fund to support and regenerate Ceredigion’s town centres.
2. Facilitate engagement, involvement, and mentoring of various organizations in the community, public, and private sectors to assist with their activities.
3. Work with local organizations and businesses to access other funding opportunities suitable for their needs.
4. Develop and implement monitoring systems to ensure compliance with funding scheme requirements.

* Growth and Enterprise: Supporting economic growth and regeneration locally and regionally; supporting Mid Wales; managing the Corporate Estate and development opportunities; project support; European and local funding; Food Centre Wales; supporting agri-food development; tourism promotion; tourist information centres; coast and countryside.
* Planning Services: Supporting growth through planning and building control; strategic and local land use planning; development management; building control; land searches.
* Property Services: Supporting the Council’s projects through property and building maintenance; facilities management; carbon management; and efficient use of property.
