Mechanical Engineer – Engineering Change & Continuous Improvement
Location: Greater London, Middlesex, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Berks
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for precision and continuous improvement? Ready to mentor a newly formed team and take ownership of critical design changes that keep aerospace products operational worldwide?
Join a leading British aerospace engineering firm dedicated to complex and advanced systems used by aircrew globally.
What You'll Do:
* Work within a collaborative team focused on maintaining and improving existing product designs—primarily ejection seats—through engineering modifications driven by material shortages, error reports, and regulatory updates.
* Lead and mentor a growing team, guiding best practices in drawing changes and design reviews.
* Take responsibility for authorising engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with international and military standards.
* Investigate engineering issues and develop practical, commercially viable design solutions.
* Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable, safety-critical products.
* Manage workload effectively while producing detailed technical reports, calculations, and presentations.
What We're Looking For:
* Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree (1st/2:1) or equivalent.
* Proven experience in high-precision engineering, ideally with exposure to materials and manufacturing processes.
* Strong knowledge of modification classifications and engineering change control.
* Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
* A mentor mindset with the ability to develop and lead a technical team.
* Committed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and collaboration.
Why This Role Stands Out:
This isn't a new product development role. Instead, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape and improve existing life-critical aerospace products that save lives every day. You'll be a trusted expert, influencing design decisions that matter, within a company known for its engineering excellence and impact.
If you're ready to take the next step in your career with a role that offers responsibility, growth, and the chance to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
