Senior Pharmacy Technician - Dispensary

Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Senior Pharmacy Technician to support the dispensary, provide technical support, maintain stock control, assist in patient counselling, and train junior staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to the dispensary, including labelling, dispensing inpatient, outpatient, discharge prescriptions, controlled drugs and clinical trials.
* Maintain high standard of stock control and stock rotation.
* Assist pharmacists with patient counselling, optimise patient knowledge of drugs.
* Support lead/Chief technicians.
* Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team and maintain rapport with medical staff.
* Train new and junior staff, including trainee pharmacists, technician students, pharmacy assistants.
* Provide patient medication counselling in line with departmental standards.
* Enhance the quality of patient care and demonstrate a whole‑system patient‑focused approach.
Qualifications
* Registered with the GPhC.
* Significant experience working in a dispensary.
* Post registration experience in a hospital pharmacy (at least 6 months).
* Desirable: line‑management experience, medicines management training.
Essential Requirements
* Current UK professional registration.
* Subject to Disclosure and Barring Service check.
* Eligibility to hold UK registration.
Employment Details
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Full‑time
Pay: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum
Band: Band 5
Location: Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Bristol Road South, Birmingham B31 2AP
