Job location: Netherthorpe House, 101 Netherthorpe Road, Sheffield, S3 7EZ. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time or Part-time. Band 7. Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per annum.
Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Talking Therapies Service. Sheffield Talking Therapies is at the forefront of transforming access to psychological therapies. We are seeking experienced qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to join our supportive team. Therapists will provide a blend of face-to-face and online therapy sessions to support work-life balance.
Responsibilities
* Deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to adults with depression and anxiety disorders in line with NICE guidance and the National Talking Therapies manual.
* Assess suitability for CBT interventions, provide consultations, and refer on to other services when appropriate.
* Develop, implement and evaluate therapy programmes; complete mandated session-by-session outcome measures; maintain accurate records in line with service protocols.
* Work with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds; where necessary, use an interpreter; involve family members where appropriate and communicate CBT concepts clearly.
* Adhere to a stepped-care model; maintain a reasonable caseload and work toward service targets (e.g., 20 clinical contact hours per week pro rata; recovery and improvement targets).
* Deliver both face-to-face and virtual treatment sessions; be available to work in a flexible pattern to meet service needs, including occasional Saturdays.
* Engage in clinical supervision and CPD; contribute to training and development of other staff as required.
* Maintain professional standards and confidentiality; keep up to date with BABCP accreditation requirements and national guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
* Essential: Recognised qualification as a High Intensity Talking Therapies CBT therapist with BABCP accreditation or provisional accreditation, or equivalent professional registration (e.g., HCPC/BPS for clinical psychology track).
* Post-graduate qualification in CBT and evidence of BABCP accreditation or provisional accreditation; or registration as a Clinical Psychologist with HCPC and BABCP accreditation (as applicable).
* Post-graduate Diploma in CBT or equivalent; evidence of continuous professional development and CPD.
* Experience of working with depression and anxiety disorders, ideally in a Talking Therapies service or Primary Care; able to use routine outcome measures and meet service targets; capable of working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to work across Sheffield to meet demand; willingness to attend service-wide non-clinical time (supervision, forums, CPD).
* Desirable: Experience of Talking Therapies Long Term Conditions training; additional postgraduate qualifications; supervision/training experience; experience of applying therapy in diverse cultural contexts.
Knowledge, Skills & Other Requirements
* Strong skills in psychological assessment, intervention and management of common mental health problems; ability to monitor practice using outcome measures; effective written and verbal communication with service users and colleagues.
* Knowledge of evidence-based CBT models; familiarity with child protection and relevant legislation; ability to maintain high professional standards and confidentiality; ability to use videoconferencing as a treatment option.
* Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload; resilience to work under pressure; ability to work as part of a GP practice team and wider service.
Other
* Modality: Able to work a minimum of 22.5 hours per week, including Thursday afternoons (service-wide non-clinical time).
* Flexible with appointment times to meet patient needs (including early/late appointments and occasional Saturdays).
* Commitment to CPD, supervision and service improvement; willingness to participate in performance reviews and meet National Talking Therapies standards on access, waiting times and recovery.
