We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically adept professional to join my client as a Proposals Engineer in Aberdeen on a full-time and permanent basis.
The role will commence as fully on-site (35 hour working week) and following successful completion of the probation period, you can apply to work up to 2 days per week from home.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in reviewing and interpreting tender documentation, providing essential technical clarifications, and supporting bid submissions to align with company standards.
This role involves close collaboration with commercial, technical, and operations teams to effectively manage RFQs, identify technical risks, and maintain accurate data within CRM and ERP systems.
Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive under pressure. Alongside a background in electronics and previous bid team experience, a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are paramount.

Job requirements:

Review and interpret tender documentation including technical specifications to determine project scope requirements.
Responsible for advising the commercial team on technical bid requirements.
Provide detailed technical clarifications for RFQ (Request for Quotation) and tender submissions.
Support quotation submissions, ensuring alignment with company expectations and standards.
Undertake technical review and clarification meetings with clients - with the assistance of departmental technical experts where required.
Liaise with internal departments to obtain necessary technical inputs.
Identify technical risks and opportunities associated with each bid.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, products and competitor offerings.
Assist in the completion of vendor registration processes and pre-qualification documents.
Assist with maintaining the ERP system.
Provide project support following contract award, as required.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers engineering and procurement teams.
Maintain accurate records of client contacts, companies, and enquiries within the CRM system (responsible for own data and may be requested to assist with other team members and departments data maintenance).
Collaborate closely with Technical Subject Matter Experts across departments.
The successful candidate will ideally have/be:
A technical qualification (preferably in electronics)
Proven ability to interpret and understand technical documentation.
Previous experience working within a bid or proposals team (preferred, but not essential).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
A high level of self-motivation and a proactive approach to tasks.
The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).
The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
A flexible attitude with the capability to work within both Sales and Operations environments.
Good customer service skills, demonstrating patience and efficiency in all communications (phone, email, and face-to-face).
Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
