Job Summary
As our Fleet Ambassador your key objective is to ensure that all vehicles are checked for vehicle condition and road‑worthiness in terms of legal, corporate image and operational compliance, with exceptions to be reported via the vehicle check app and defect procedure. You will ensure all drivers identify and correctly report defects via the correct processes and that they are rectified. To conduct all Owner Driver leased vehicles start‑of‑contract and end‑of‑contract handovers for employment, terminations, vehicle swaps and hire vans. In addition you will support the depot operation by conducting regular site and equipment checks and report any fleet accidents on our portal TranMan.
Key Daily Checks
* Check all fleet vehicles, including rental vehicles, daily and record the check and condition via the Vehicle App.
* Ensure 3.5‑tonne van vehicles do not exceed 3.5 tonnes in weight using the weighbridge.
* Act as Fleet Ambassador for VOR vehicles if damage is found or defective.
* Check all associated vehicle equipment, including material handling equipment, jump packs, fuel pumps and enclosures.
* Ensure the site adheres to health and safety rules, clear traffic flow and effective parking.
* Ensure all drivers have the correct DPD Uniform at all times; vans are kept clean and to company standards.
Key Weekly Checks
* When damage is found on an Owner Driver vehicle, populate a 21‑day notice via the app.
* Record all 21‑day and 7‑day notices into a shared Google Calendar with your Transport Team.
* Review outstanding 21‑day notice letters with the Depot Quality Manager or Depot manager.
* Conduct a weekly check and download information from the HGV fleet, accounting for discrepancies.
* Check fleet stock (mirror glasses, lamps, bulbs, etc.) and reorder as required.
* Ensure the gritter is in full working order and clean during winter; report any defects to your Regional Transport Engineer.

* Work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly manner following depot instructions, procedures and regulatory requirements such as Health & Safety.

Salary & Working Hours
* Salary: £14.93 ph – overtime paid at an enhanced rate.
* Contract: Permanent – 40 hours per week.
* Days of work: Monday – Friday.
* Hours of work: 06:30 – 14:30.
