BAM FM is recruiting a Ventilation/Mechanically skilled Engineer to work with site-based staff at University Hospital Southampton. Responsibilities include planned maintenance and fault diagnosis.
This is a full-time role, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, rotating early/late shifts.
Your mission
* Perform planned preventative maintenance, complete reports.
* Extensive knowledge of ventilation/mechanical equipment maintenance, testing, and fault finding.
* Experience with plumbing, boilers, ventilation, pumps, switchgear, controls, cables, small power, lighting.
* Supervise subcontractors, review risk assessments, ensure safe work execution.
* Read and diagnose faults using electrical drawings and specifications.
* Identify and order spare parts, monitor stock.
* Maintain ventilation/mechanical plant per HTMs and SFG20 standards.
* Complete tasks within contractual deadlines.
* Assist team members, support energy reduction initiatives, undertake AP duties if needed.
Who are we looking for?
* Minimum 4 years’ experience as a ventilation/mechanical engineer in a busy environment.
* HVAC qualifications are advantageous.
* Knowledge of H&S regulations, risk assessments.
* Self-motivated, reliable, with basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical skills.
* Good communication and organizational skills, proactive in identifying issues.
Working rotating shifts: 08:00-16:30 and 13:30-22:00, with on-call support (1 week in 6). Support health and safety, provide general support, cover holidays, and perform other duties as required.
