Whether you bring 2–3 years’ experience from a top-tier insurer or 5+ years in the market, we want to hear from you — DA experience is not essential.
Your new role
As a Delegated Authority Scheme Underwriter, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of our scheme portfolio. You’ll work closely with brokers, underwriting and operations teams to optimise performance, enhance profitability, and deliver exceptional service. This is a hands-on role where initiative, collaboration, andmercial acumen are key.
Key responsibilities include owning and growing relationships with a panel of brokers to generate profitable business. You will monitor scheme performance and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency, investigate high loss ratios, implement corrective actions, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters. Other duties include preparing and presenting renewal proposals to the Underwritingmittee and reviewing and updating policy wording, contracts, and binding authority agreements.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in delegated authority account management OR 2–3 years inmercialbined underwriting from a top insurer. You will have strong relationships andmunication skills and be a confident negotiator with the ability to influence. The ideal candidate would also be a self-starter with excellent time management and have a solid understanding of UKmercials.
