We are looking for an Engagement Coordinator (Heritage) to join our National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Our Past, Their Future. The role is a part‑time fixed‑term position (20 hours per week) until 31 March 2028. You will collect oral histories from parents of people with learning disabilities across North Wales, including parts of North Ceredigion and North Powys. You will work with volunteers and project staff to curate and interpret the histories into a travelling exhibition across Wales. The role requires a valid driving licence, access to a vehicle, and the flexibility to travel and spend one day a week at the Mencap Mon hub in Llangefni.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Recruiting and collecting oral histories of parents across North Wales.
* Recruiting and working with volunteers to design and interpret the travelling exhibition in partnership with project staff.
* Establishing strong working relationships internally and externally with Mencap Network Partners, colleagues, and museums hosting the exhibitions.
* Supporting participants through the consent process and post‑interview aftercare (if required).
What Were Looking For
* The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh, written and verbal.
* Previous experience working on heritage projects.
* The ability to communicate effectively through written and face‑to‑face contact.
* A track record of delivering creative projects on time and within budget.
* Excellent judgement and troubleshooting skills.
* An interest and desire to learn more about learning disability.
* Someone with a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
