Adults Social Worker – Learning Disabilities Vale of Glamorgan £33.83 per hour (Umbrella) Full-time | 3-month contract (maternity cover) Immediate start available Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives? We’re working with Vale of Glamorgan Social Services to recruit a social worker to join their dedicated Learning Disabilities Team on a short-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a supportive service where strengths-based practice and person-centred planning are genuinely embedded. About the role: You’ll be working closely with individuals and their families to promote independence, wellbeing, and choice — ensuring people can lead fulfilled and purposeful lives within their communities. Your day-to-day will include: Carrying out assessments and care planning Delivering person-centred and strengths-based interventions Managing a caseload within a Learning Disabilities team Working collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners Ensuring plans are outcome-focused and meet performance standards What we’re looking for: Proven experience within Learning Disabilities services (essential) Strong skills in assessment, care planning, and care management Confident using IT systems and managing workloads effectively A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a strong value base A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker A relevant Social Work Qualification Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS 3 Years of referencing Driving license with access to a car Why consider this role?
