Role
The Director of Pharmacy is a senior position within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde that provides expert advice and support to the Board, its committees and health and social care professionals. The Director is accountable for strategic and operational planning, leadership of pharmacy services, and ensuring safe, effective and efficient pharmaceutical care across the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Strategic and operational planning and leadership of pharmacy services.
* Oversee collaboration with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and its Health & Social Care Partnerships.
* Ensure the delivery of agreed standards of pharmaceutical care, maintaining safety, effectiveness and resource efficiency.
* Provide professional leadership to drive service innovation and development, adapting to changes in the health and care landscape.
* Act as the Board’s Accountable Officer – Controlled Drugs.
About You
* Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Medical Director.
* Demonstrable track record of operational and strategic management of pharmaceutical care services in a multidisciplinary setting.
* Strong team‑working and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire leaders and foster a patient‑focussed culture.
* Ability to develop initiatives, provide services and drive transformations.
* Experience in leading within a complex health system and delivering on strategic priorities such as “Transforming Together”.
