About the Role:
Social work is at the heart of social and community innovations in mental health services in Trafford. An exciting opportunity has arisen, and we currently have a vacancy within the South Community Mental Health Team in Trafford.
In this social work role, you will support individuals to lead fulfilling lives and reach their potential for independent living. You will work holistically with the person and their social network, helping to strengthen and build sustainable families and social capital.
On a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and manage a caseload of individuals with severe mental health issues. You will work within a Care Program Approach, grounded in the social model of disability, and adopt a strengths-based approach. You will deliver statutory duties as per the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation such as the HRA 1998, MHA 1983, and MCA 2005, alongside the mental health recovery model.
This role requires a social worker who is driven, passionate about making a difference, and committed to working within a strong human rights framework to promote social justice and equal opportunities for people with mental health problems.
You should be collaborative, with excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. Use your professional curiosity and inquisitive enquiry at every contact to promote person-centred outcomes and wellbeing.
A good knowledge base of ethical and legal literacy is essential. You should be committed to continuous learning and improvement to ensure effective outcomes.
Valuing and respecting others’ contributions, being able to professionally challenge when necessary, and working within a solutions-focused, 'can-do' approach within a specialist service are also important qualities for this role.
