Arnold Laver, Part of National Timber Group, are looking to recruit a Relief HGV Driver/Transport Office Assistant at their busy Borehamwood branch.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Class 2 HIAB Driver, an excellent communicator, a confident, enthusiastic, customer focused and accomplished individual. The ability to work under pressure, have a proactive attitude to innovation and can focus on coaching and encouraging the best from colleagues.

Responsibilities

* Delivering to customers across the region
* Completion and checking of delivery paperwork
* Ensure daily checks are carried out in accordance with company policy
* Ensure that the Company Health & Safety policies and procedures are being adhered to at all times
* To help plan all daily delivery schedules to make best use of the fleet of vehicles and drivers
* Responsible for communicating with the sales team on a daily basis to ensure that the potential of each load is maximised
* Responsible for ensuring that all paperwork is correctly booked out and Driver and Loading Manifests are completed correctly
* Liaise with our service providers and drivers to make sure that vehicles are taken in for M.O.T and services on the required dates. Whilst ensuring that any defects are reported and dealt with.
* Ensure compliance with Operator's Licence undertakings.
* Maintain FORS Silver status.
* Conduct driver appraisals and monthly safety briefings.
* Responsible for liaising with drivers to ensure that completed loads are correct, once they are loaded and prior to the vehicle leaving site
* Work as a team to ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in full

Attributes:

* Class 2 HGV driving licence
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Excellent communication skills in English
* Ability to manage and lead a team effectively
* Strong organisational and planning skills
* Prior experience in transport management is desirable
* Customer service-oriented mindset

Hours, Salary and Benefits:
