Your Role
Position: Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist
Full-time, 5 days a week
Salary: £32,883 (up to £35,465 upon preceptorship completion)

Site Overview: Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is a state-of-the-art, 63-bed mental health facility for adults located in the Kent Medical Campus, Maidstone.
The hospital is purpose-built to meet the latest standards for therapeutic mental health care and provides essential services for local patients from Kent, divided into four specialized wards:
* Roseacre Ward: Highly Specialized Personality Disorder service for women
* Kingswood Ward: High Dependency Rehabilitation service for men
* Bearsted Ward: Specialist PICU Service for Men
* Saltwood Ward: Male low secure ward
The services are developed in collaboration with NHS bodies to ensure local access to specialist mental health care, close to patients' homes and families.
Ward Focus - Roseacre Ward: A 16-bed personality disorder service supporting women in managing mental health, developing coping strategies, and preparing for independent living, using a recovery-focused model.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will conduct assessments, deliver treatments, and manage patient care within the service, focusing on community living and functional skills.
Multidisciplinary Team: The team includes a consultant psychiatrist, specialty doctor, psychotherapist, assistant psychologist, social worker, mental health nurses, and healthcare assistants.
Caseload and Support: You will oversee 16 beds, supervise a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant, and receive monthly supervision and weekly 1:1 support from an experienced OT. The team comprises four OTs, including a senior and head OT, and four OT assistants, fostering a supportive environment for professional growth.
Unique Feature: The ward includes a sensory room, vital for supporting emotional regulation.
