Overview
We would like to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic Radiologist who wishes to develop their career in our department’s traditionally friendly, harmonious and supportive environment. This is a 2 year fixed term contract to support Imaging services across UHDB. The post is based at UHDB, mainly split between two major sites with acute care facilities (RDH and QHB). Any extension past the initial 2 years would require the post holder to be working towards Portfolio Pathway submission for entry onto the GMC Specialist Register. The appointed candidate will work with a team of established specialist radiologists providing diagnostic imaging expertise in Radiology.

In addition, we have 18 Specialty Registrars on rotation from Nottingham and Leicester. The appointed consultant is expected to cover general reporting in addition to their sub-speciality work and participate on the diagnostic on-call rota at the Royal Derby Hospital.

* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including breast radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, advanced nurse practitioners, radiographers, and nurses.
* Work within the service’s broad imaging portfolio including screening and diagnostic pathways, image-guided biopsy, pre-operative localisation, MRI, CESM, MDT participation, and interval cancer review as appropriate.
Workload and Conditions
* The post attracts 10 PAs (8.5 DCC + 1.5 SPA); part-time working arrangements may be considered.
* Support from a large cross-site team, including 12 reporting radiographers and 3 consultant radiographers (one of whom is a Breast consultant Radiographer).
