Job Description:
Woking & Sam Beare Hospice are pleased to announce the following position:
Registered General Nurse – Community Services Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice for a Registered nurse to join our friendly community specialist palliative care/Hospice at Home team. The team deliver and continue to develop palliative care services for people facing progressive and life-limiting conditions across our catchment area in Northwest Surrey.
Our community team consists of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Associate Clinical Nurse Specialists, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Specialist Doctors. We work closely with our therapy team, which includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy Assistants. All our patients and carers have access to counselling services and the Wellbeing Unit. The hospice also has a 20-bed Inpatient Unit. The ability to travel in your own car to visit patients at home is essential.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nurse who is patient-focused and passionate about palliative care. Ideally, you will have some experience in oncology, respiratory, or palliative care, or other transferable skills that can be utilized. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with patients and staff at all levels are essential.
The hospice is dedicated to staff development and progression opportunities. The team will mentor, invest, develop, teach, and help the candidate achieve their goals along their development journey. In return for your skills, you can expect to join a caring multidisciplinary team working in a beautiful hospice in the heart of Northwest Surrey. Our vision is to enable all those with life-limiting illnesses to live life to the full and to die with dignity and choice.
Full-time (37.5 hours) or part-time hours (15 hours or more) will be considered. If you would like to discuss this role further or arrange an informal visit, please contact Hayley Fellows (Community Services Manager) via email at [email protected]. Woking and Sam Beare Hospice is a regional charity working closely with NHS partners to provide excellent care to patients and their families.
“In the short time I have worked at the Hospice, I have been really supported by the team I work within. It is a challenging environment to work in, and I am continually learning. However, it is made easier by working in a supportive and caring team. I love my job.”
