We currently have an opportunity to join our Port of Felixstowe Operations team as a HGV Driver/Cleansing Operative Your role: You’ll be responsible for undertaking the driving of HGV refuse collection vehicles and loading duties across waste management roles and functions, in accordance with the service needs. Working within a safety orientated environment, you will need to load refuse, recycling, and garden waste onto refuse vehicles, prioritising high standards of health and safety, whilst also maintaining excellent customer care. This role involves maintaining designated areas and ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Responsibilities can include loading bulky waste and handling special collections, as well as assisting with the removal/collection of redundant materials from office spaces and workshop environments. Additional duties include a variety of cleansing tasks such as litter picking, emptying waste bins and hand‑sweeping designated areas. What you will need: You will need to hold a full UK Driver’s License, LGV Class 2 Category C licence, preferably have an HGV Class 1 licence but, not essential, and hold a valid driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) to enable you to competently operate refuse collection vehicles within a highly technical and safety orientated environment.
