We are looking for a Permanent Transport Operations Supervisor.
£30,000-£35,000kpa
Location: Weston Super Mare
Shift: 2 shift pattern Monday to Friday with hours between 0600 and 2000
JDR Recruitment are recruiting for a Transport Operations Supervisor to join our clients team based in Weston Super Mare.
The role:
As a Transport operations supervisor, you will be an experienced professional from a fast-paced operational background, ideally from transport, but the role is trainable for the right person with the right attitude and skills from a different sector.
Working alongside the operations manager your key responsibilities will include:-
Proficiently utilising computer applications, including transport management software and Google Workspace (particularly Google Sheets).
Communicating effectively with internal departments, customers, and external partners via telephone, email, and in person.
Maintaining accurate records across a number of systems including driver hours, mileage, telematics data, DBS checks for staff.
Providing crucial support to the Operations Manager in day-to-day transport operations.
Managing the early stages of incident/accident investigations, to determine fault and facilitate the next stages.
Supervising the cleaning team of 6, including managing their working hours.
General admin duties.
Requirements:
Excellent knowledge of Google Workspace including Google Sheets.
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude within a team.
On call responsibilities on a rota for a weeknight and a weekend (time given back in days off for this) on a 1 in 4 rota typically once completely trained.
Valid UK Driving Licence
Ability to commute or relocate to Weston-Super-Mare
Good geographical knowledge
Office based Monday-Friday work schedule with on-call responsibilities (on average, 1 in 4 weekends and 1 week pm per week).
