Due to continued growth, my client is looking to grow their geo-environmental consultancy division.
In this role you will
* Become part of a close-knit and dynamic team focused on delivering excellent results for clients;
* Discover the fundamentals of the geo-environmental industry, including contaminated land risk assessment and geotechnical design;

* Participate in a variety of challenging and innovative projects across residential, commercial and civil engineering industries, including having opportunities to manage projects through the entire life-cycle of a construction programme.
The ideal individual for this role will be:
* Confident working in a team and independently;
* Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrable energy, drive and enthusiasm;
* Willing to develop their proficiency in fieldwork techniques, production and management of data and both factual and interpretative reporting;
* Able to apply a commercial appraisal to projects, ensuring that value for money is paramount in all work undertaken.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Co-ordination, supervision and management of ground investigations, including Phase 1 (desk-top) studies, Phase 2 (intrusive) investigations and subsequent monitoring and remediation works;
* Understanding geotechnical/geological and environmental aspects of site investigation;
* Ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are followed during all field work practices;
* Accurate and precise recording of fieldwork data, and clear, concise presentation of such data;
* Liaising with clients, subcontractors and staff in both office and field settings;
* Preparing client reports, including environmental risk assessments, remedial recommendations, foundation recommendations and coal mining risk assessments;
* Assisting senior staff with preparations of reports, drawings, models and fee proposals.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
* First degree in Geology or related subject, ideally with practical modules encompassing field work;
* A full, clean driving licence;
* Based within an easily commutable distance to Manchester;
* Full right to work in the UK, both now and in the future without need for sponsorship.
