Applications are invited for the role of Faculty Coordinator in the Faculty of English. The postholder will work closely with senior management and academic staff to support research and governance, particularly via planning and resources, trust fund and research committees.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily running of faculty activities and manage specific research support budgets.
* Monitor expenditure, compile draft budgets for approval, account for variances, and keep management informed of concerns such as overspending.
* Ensure compliance with university financial procedures and oversee invoices and purchase orders.
* Advise on research funders, university policy, service development, and changes to research activities.
* Support the research committee by preparing reports, developing systems, maintaining databases, and analysing research data.
* Advise Principal Investigators throughout the lifecycle of research awards.
* Respond to academic enquiries, interpret university and faculty policies, engage with central administrative units, and circulate key notices.
* Organise Standing Committee meetings, prepare documentation, produce minutes, and follow up on actions.
Qualifications
Educated to Degree level/Level 6 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience, the right candidate would be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of administration involving a critical understanding of relevant theory and/or principles, excellent organisational skills and ability to work pro-actively, with minimal supervision, using own initiative to manage a varied workload. The ideal candidate would have significant administrative experience preferably in a higher education setting and experience of developing/reviewing administrative processes and systems.
