About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. Actively playing out our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers.
When you're not out on the road, you'll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping. Contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming team.
Note: You need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day in store and be responsible for:
* Checking your delivery routes for the day.
* Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together for efficient delivery to customers.
* Completing vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance, health and safety standards.
* Representing the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as your priority.
* Helping customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
* Supporting the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
* Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good time management skills.
* Ability to cope with physical tasks (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
* Ability to work independently, self-motivated, adaptable.
* IT literacy.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles are a plus.
Varied part-time hours across seven days, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, between 06:00-22:30.
