Overview
This role is an essential front-line position the business relies on to operate. You will work in all weather conditions, carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the water treatment works operate to maintain supply to customers and protect the environment. Planned preventive maintenance of equipment supports the operation of the plant. Base Location: Walton-on-Thames - KT12 2EG. Working Pattern: 38 hours, Monday to Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby rota. Payments can increase earnings upon completion of essential company training. A full UK driver’s licence is required.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
* Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to ensure on-site operational and health and safety standards are maintained, as well as supplying wholesome drinking water to customers.
* Attending reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure.
* Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks.
* Always working safely and complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
Be prepared to be trained in safety procedures and hold a full UK driver’s licence.

* Be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves in the team. You need to be very disciplined, have the desire to learn from those around you, and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding but is rewarding.
* Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, be curious to understand the problem, and identify the best solution to resolve it the first time.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
* Teamwork – we are one team with shared end goals.
* Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
* Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures and have knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
* Full UK driver’s licence.
