Practice Nurse – Permanent | Full-time or Part-time | Competitive salary (dependent on experience) About the Role A well-established GP operating in the Solihull area is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Practice Nurse to join its multidisciplinary clinical team. The postholder will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive environment that emphasises teamwork, professional development, and innovative primary care delivery. You will work closely with GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, healthcare assistants, and wider primary care roles such as pharmacists, social prescribers, and mental health practitioners. Key Responsibilities Clinical duties Provide evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages. Manage and deliver chronic disease reviews (e.g., asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension). Conduct cervical screening and women’s health clinics. Perform childhood and adult immunisations, including travel vaccinations where applicable. Undertake wound care, dressings, ear care, and health promotion clinics. Provide lifestyle advice (smoking cessation, weight management, exercise support). Support long-term condition management using templates and clinical guidelines. Support urgent on-the-day patient needs within your competence. Working within the team Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care. Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to quality-improvement initiatives. Support and mentor junior staff where appropriate. Work across more than one site if required (within a small local radius). Compliance & Governance Maintain accurate clinical records using current digital record systems. Uphold infection prevention and control standards. Follow safeguarding, medicines management, and clinical safety protocols. Engage in clinical audits and contribute to service development. What We’re Looking For Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration. Experience in a primary care or community setting (or a strong desire to develop into the role). Competence in chronic disease management (training can be provided). Up-to-date cervical screening and immunisation qualifications (or willingness to complete training). Confident working independently but comfortable in a team-based environment. Strong patient communication skills and a compassionate approach.
