Site: Unit 3 & 4 Talisman Business Centre, Bicester, Oxon, OX26 6HR
Responsible to: Shift Team Leader
Basic Hours: Dayshift – Monday to Friday 07:30 - 16:00; Night Shift – Monday to Thursday 19:00 - 05:30; Weekend – Friday to Sunday 06:00 - 18:30
Salary: Setter/Operators £30k to 35k & Programmers £37k to £50k (Night Shift will occur a 30% and Weekend a 15% uplift on base salary)
Benefits: Individual Performance Bonus and Regular Overtime (not included in salary bands)

Role Overview
We are looking for skilled CNC Milling Setter Operators and Programmers. The role involves setting up, programming (where applicable), and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture high‑quality precision components. Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of machining principles, can read technical drawings, and have experience with various materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Machine Setup & Operation – set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components.
* Tooling & Parameter Selection – select and install appropriate tooling, work holding, and cutting parameters to ensure optimal machining performance.
* Material Handling – load and unload materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Programming (for Programmer Roles) – create and edit CNC programs using Heidenhain and FANUC controls, optimise cutting paths, feeds and speeds to improve efficiency and tool life, ensure all programs meet required tolerances and specifications.
* Quality Control & Compliance – interpret technical drawings, conduct first‑off and in‑process inspections, work closely with the Quality department to address non‑conformances, maintain strict adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
* Efficiency & Problem Solving – identify and implement improvements in machining processes, troubleshoot and resolve machining or tooling issues, work proactively to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
* Health, Safety & Workplace Organisation – maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, comply with all health and safety regulations, properly use PPE and machine safety protocols, ensure machines are well‑maintained and serviced as required.

* Meet production schedules with minimal delays.
* Maintain high‑quality standards, reducing scrap and rework rates.
* Increase machine utilisation and reduce downtime through process improvements.
* Ensure all team members are trained and competent in CNC milling operations.
* Promote a positive and proactive team culture focused on quality and efficiency.
Review & Performance Assessment
* Performance reviewed quarterly against agreed KPIs.
* Feedback sessions focus on efficiency, quality, and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Areas requiring development addressed through training and support.
* Opportunities for progression and further training based on performance and business needs.
