1. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing an extensive range of advanced Optometric services for patient care to the highest standards of quality and care and meeting the changing needs of the department
2. To demonstrate Optometry techniques at post-graduate level for multiple disciplines within Ophthalmology

Main duties of the job
4. Communicates effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team,requires concise and accurate verbal and written reports
5. Communicates condition related information, breaking bad news on a daily basisthat has life changing consequences untreatable sight loss/blindness, loss ofdriving license due to sight loss. Patients are frequently elderly
6. Assist with day-to day running of department including administrative dutiesnecessary for smooth running of the department

Job responsibilities
8. Undertake Slit lamp bio microscopy and volk lens examination
9. To decide priorities for own work area, balancing other patient and professional demands, and to ensure these adhere to both local and professionalrequirements.
10. To contribute to the planning and the development of the Optometry service
11. Work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure an efficientservice and high level of patient care in line with Trust policy
