This hub processes worldwide imports and exports, adhering to stringent customs and aviation security standards, and connects customers with over 195 countries globally. Spanning 45,000 square metres, HWDC has the capability to manage around 1 million import/export items daily. To drive efficiency and continuous improvement across the Plant, we have a vacancy for a Production Control Manager. Reporting to the Cost and Efficiency Manager, you’ll lead the plant’s planning and production control activities, ensuring robust continuous improvement practices, accurate workload demand planning, and effective daily production plan execution. Key responsibilities Support the Plant Manager in the achievement of all financial, productivity and automation targets. Oversee the production plan from point of access through to despatch. Ensure all seasonal plans are designed to meet our customer and efficiency targets. Analyse performance against the plan to identify improvement opportunities and hold regular performance reviews with each shift manager. Work closely with the Plant Manager and Ops managers to deploy agreed projects. Work with the Regional Production Planning Team to ensure compliance, accuracy of the production planning processes. Have overall Plant responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of all reported traffic, hours and efficiency, ensuring the resourcing to workload approach is robust. Manage a team of Resource Managers to include performance manage, coach and developing the team. Be accountable for financial probity of all Resourcing processes and budget management for the production control team activity. Encourages a positive, customer‑focused environment where teams stay committed to delivering great service and improving what they do. Attendance: Monday to Friday, predominately, 08:00 – 16:00 with a degree of flexibility. The start/finish time may vary to support the shift managers. About you You need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your application. • A background in logistics, distribution, or express parcels operations. • Experience in implementing production plans, including planning, organising, coordinating, and controlling resources and assets. • Strong ability to work with senior stakeholders and frontline colleagues to drive performance improvements. • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills. • Experience working with trade unions to deliver and embed change. • Strong project management capability with experience leading and delivering operational projects. • Experience in using data to understand performance, identify issues, and support effective decision making, • Team leader experience, supporting colleagues to develop the skills to deliver high quality results.
