Are you ready to make a real impact? Norfolk County Council invites you to be part of our dynamic HomeFirst Hub team. We’re seeking a full-time Senior Business Officer to play a vital role in ensuring safe discharges, admission avoidance, reablement opportunities, and ongoing care planning for individuals in crisis and leaving hospital.
The HomeFirst Hub operates as an integrated team, collaborating closely with Norfolk Community Health & Care (NCH&C), NHS Acute colleagues, the voluntary sector, and other Norfolk County Council colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Answering and signposting calls, taking referrals from healthcare professionals, monitoring inboxes, taking notes from huddles to update and distribute reports, data input and updating patient records on Liquid Logic (LAS) and SystmOne.
* Be a team player with knowledge of using Teams, Excel, data entry and Microsoft Outlook. Multitasking is essential—you’ll be word processing notes while handling phone calls.
* Be flexible and adaptive to new ways of working, have a positive attitude and respect for sensitive data.
* Deal with individuals in crisis with resilience, empathy, and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
* Support the HomeFirst Hub as a developing service, with a strong induction and the opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive environment.
* The team is operational 7 days a week, with a pattern including weekends; the role is hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week office-based working from Reed House on Broadland Business Park and Norwich Community Hospital.
Person specification / Qualifications
* Committed team player with a proactive, positive attitude and a can-do approach; able to deliver first-class levels of support.
* Comfortable working with people in crisis; resilient, empathetic, and able to handle urgent and challenging circumstances.
* Experience with data systems and common office tools (Teams, Excel, data entry, Outlook).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new ways of working.
