The Job Role
Educated Recruitment are looking for an English teacher who is driven and dedicated to educating and guiding the young minds of our future. Ideally, you will be located in the Barnstaple area or be willing to commute. You will be able to adapt to different environments, engage students with invigorating ideas and radiate positivity throughout the placement.
This English Teacher role is Barnstaple is a full time role commencing from September 2025.
Please note: Our daily pay rate for qualified teachers as a supply teacher recruitment business starts at £130 for newly qualified teachers, but pay can be negotiated up to £200 based on experience, pay scale and additional responsibilities, and is ultimately at the discretion of school budgets.

English Teacher Responsibilities
- Delivering cover lessons
- Preparing planning if required
- Following safeguarding and school policies
- Marking work as needed
- Liaising with school staff
English Teacher Essentials
- QTS or ECT status (applications from other teaching backgrounds also welcome)
- A current DBS, or Update Service subscription (the agency can apply for this)
- A 3 year minimum reference history
- Up to date knowledge of the curriculum
- Reliability
- Excellent communication skills
