As Deputy Head of Business Intelligence and Governance, you will lead high-performing teams across Strategic Planning, Policy and Performance, Business Intelligence Systems, and Business Analytics and Research. Working closely with the Cabinet and Senior Leaders, you will drive innovation, champion evidence-based approaches, and ensure the
Council’s statutory responsibilities are met. You will be required to deputise for the Head of Business Intelligence and Governance as and when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and strategic oversight.

Your leadership will help shape how data and insight inform decision making across the organisation.
What you will do:
• Lead and manage the Council’s business intelligence, strategic planning, policy, performance, and analytics functions, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused services that support effective decision-making.
• Provide strategic advice and insight to senior leaders, supporting the development of evidence-based policies and ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and organisational priorities.
• Oversee the production and publication of statutory plans and performance reports, maintaining strong relationships with external regulators and ensuring compliance with legislative guidance.
• Deputise for the Head of Business Intelligence and Governance, providing continuity of leadership and contributing to the strategic direction of the service and at these times supporting the head of service responsible areas including; Transformation Portfolio, Democratic Services and Member Support, Communications and Engagement, Welsh
Language, Personal Assistants to Senior Leadership teams, to undertake the statutory role of Head of Democratic Services.
• Champion the use of data and insight across the organisation, promoting a high performing culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
• Represent the service in internal and external forums, building strong partnerships and promoting best practice in business intelligence and governance.
• Manage budgets and external supplier relationships, ensuring value for money, effective contract oversight, and alignment with Council objectives.
