Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and composite structures. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of carpentry and joinery skills within a dynamic construction environment. The ideal applicant will have experience working with hand tools, power tools, and possess a strong understanding of building techniques including roofing, masonry, plumbing, and electrical systems. Responsibilities
* Fabricate and assemble bespoke wooden components using hand tools and power tools to meet project specifications.
* Install joinery elements such as doors, windows, partitions, and cabinetry on-site.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
* Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate construction tasks.
* Assist with roofing installations, masonry work, plumbing connections, and electrical fittings as required.
* Conduct finishing work including sanding, polishing, and applying protective coatings or paint.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure safety standards are upheld at all times.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople such as electricians, plumbers, and masons to complete integrated projects efficiently.
Experience
* Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry or joinery within the construction industry.
* Skilled in the use of hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders).
* Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical wiring or construction painting is highly desirable.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a daily basis.
* Familiarity with blueprint reading and technical drawings.
* Previous experience working on residential or commercial building sites is preferred but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to learn.
