Job Title: Chair of National Advisory Board Closing Date: Tuesday 6th May 2025 The Customer Board is a unitary board to facilitate improvements in the NHS with members working alongside other members as equals, sharing responsibility for the decisions they make and committing to the success of the Board, taking a leadership position to facilitate improvements in the NHS. In order to deliver the necessary changes, the Customer Board will work collaboratively with NHS Foundation Trusts, NHS Trusts, NHS Supply Chain, national representative bodies the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England and Improvement. The National Customer Board Chairman is responsible and accountable for: Promoting the highest standards of integrity and governance Demonstrating visible and ethical personal leadership by modelling the highest standards of personal behaviour ensuring the Customer Board follows this example Leading the National Customer Board in establishing effective decision-making processes Ensuring constructive relationships based on candour, trust and mutual respect exist between members Developing effective working relationships with all members, in particular with the Chief Executive of NHS Supply Chain Providing support, guidance and advice Promoting an understanding of the role of the Customer Board Leadership of the National Customer Board ensuring members work together effectively National Customer Board Logistics The Chairman is responsible for: Managing meetings, four per year, and ensuring compliance with approved procedures Proposing a schedule of matters reserved to the National Customer Board Reviewing and approving board papers, including meeting minutes Regularly reviewing the composition of the Board and considering succession planning, appointing effective and suitable individuals to be members and chairs of the Regional Customer Boards Setting a board agenda which is focused on quality, performance, leadership and strategy Ensuring members collectively and individual apply enough challenge Ensuring the effective contribution of all members, drawing on their individual skills, experience, and knowledge Liaising and consulting with Senior NHS stakeholders Conducting periodic reviews with each member in respect of their objectives Ensuring annual evaluation of the collective and individual performance of members What can we offer you?
