Responsibilities
As a Train Manager, you will support GBRf in delivering a safe, reliable, and top-quality service to our customers. Your duties will include liaising with Rail Operators, Signallers, and Contractors to meet customer requirements and ensure trains arrive on time.
Qualifications
A flexible attitude to working hours is essential, as this shift-based role involves a nominal 34.5-hour week. Shifts vary and cover 24/7 operations, especially at night, which is typical for freight roles.
* Current Freight Train Driving Experience is essential to apply.
* Candidates must have a satisfactory safety record and hold a valid UK driving licence.
* Extensive route and traction knowledge within the local area is desirable.
* Proficiency with IT packages such as Word, Outlook, and downloading applications on iPads is required.
* A safety-conscious and calm attitude in emergencies is necessary.
* Excellent concentration and observational skills are essential.
* Clear, professional communication skills are needed to relay safety messages effectively.
* Customer focus and strong problem-solving skills are important.
* Applicants must reside within 45 minutes of their place of work.
* Possession of a UK/EU Train Driver Licence is required.
