Payroll Associate
Location: Taunton (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a friendly and supportive accountancy practice based in Taunton. This is a permanent position offering hybrid working once fully trained, with 3 days per week in the office.

Working as part of a close-knit team of two and reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality payroll service across a varied client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing a portfolio of client payrolls from start to finish
• Managing payrolls of varying sizes, from small businesses to larger organisations with several hundred employees
• Handling both weekly and monthly payroll schedules
• Ensuring payrolls are accurate and compliant with current legislation
• Processing starters, leavers, and statutory payments
• Dealing with client queries and providing excellent customer service
• Working collaboratively within the payroll team and supporting the Payroll Manager where required
• Using Sage payroll software on a daily basis

About You

• Previous payroll experience, ideally within a practice or bureau environment
• Experience managing multiple payrolls and deadlines
• Confident using Sage payroll software
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
