About the Business

An opportunity to be a Management Accountant for a professional services business based in Birmingham. It’s a well-regarded business with a fun and friendly team and great reputation. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and determined individual in a thriving environment.

Main Duties:

As a Management Accountant, your main duties include:

* Prepare comprehensive management packs for the division, analysing financial statements and providing insightful commentary on performance.

* Ensuring accuracy within the ledger, and compliance with accounting standards.

* Analyse variances against budget and forecast and provide explanations

* Support Tender activity by forecasting the direct cost of running the service and additional
overheads required.

* Produce weekly sales reports, staff utilisation reports and aged debt reports.

* Manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Procurement functions.

* Prepare weekly and monthly payroll for processing

* Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.

* Conduct detailed analysis of costs, identifying trends and areas of potential savings or efficiency improvements.

* Monitor capital expenditures and ensure they align with budgeted expectations.

* Support audit requests by coordinating information gathering, responding to queries, and ensuring timely provision of documentation.

* Collaborate with operational departments to ensure financial objectives are met.
Provide advice and support to non-financial departments on cost management and financial
performance

* Assist in the preparation of tax returns, including VAT and corporation tax.

* Support the finance team with ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis requests.

Location / Office / Culture

The role has great flexibility and offers hybrid working with only 2 days in the Birmingham Office and flexible hours. The company operate from a modern office with a strong Finance Team of circa 10. The business is very flexible in its working patterns and due to the current ongoing growth offers great chances to gain valuable experience.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

* At least 2-3 years within a Management Accounts environment

* ACCA/ACA/CIMA/AAT Qualified or Equivalent

* Strong Ms Excel skills i.e., VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot table

* Highly organised with excellent time management skills and attention to detail
