A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Sergeant (Logs (MTD)) to serve as FS MT Trg at No 607 (County of Durham) Royal Auxiliary Air Force Squadron, RAF Leeming on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 03 August 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). As an RAF Reserves General Service Support (GSS) Sqn the role of the Unit is to provide trained personnel from across a variety of professions and specialisations to augment the RAF in the delivery of military tasks both in the UK and overseas. Specific responsibilities of the FS MT Trg include: As the MT, Defence Training Manager (DTM), you are accountable to the Officer Commanding (OC) 607 Sqn, for the implementation and compliance of all civil legislation, MOD policy, guidance, and local instructions. You will also be responsible for ensuring all duty and drivers hours are correctly managed, enforced, certified and archived. Manage and administer all Contract Driver Training (CDT) requests, including the coordination and management of FTRS and PTVR instructors to deliver and sustain the Squadron’s ongoing SQEP training requirement. Advise the Officer Commanding (OC) 607 Squadron on all training and testing requirements relating to vocational driving licences. In the role of Unit Licensing Officer (ULO), scrutinise and process all CDT applications, including driving tests, maintenance of the licence register, and the administration of contract payments through DST, Leconfield. Hold responsibility for the oversight of the delivery of Phase 2 and Phase 3 Logistic Driver (MTD) training, and for the administration of associated training programmes for all TG6 PTVRs, including the coordination of three five‑day Annual Continuous Training (ACT) opportunities within 607 Squadron. Be responsible for prioritising, coordinating, and capturing the delivery of Phase 3 driver training for all trades and professions in line with JPAN and mobilisation pre‑deployment training requirements. Be responsible as the FS TG6 SME and POC for the Northern MT Support Hub, delivering authoritative advice on Driving Licence Regulations and Road Safety Policy to all Sqn and Hub‑nominated MT POCs for cascade throughout their AORs. In the DTS role, for the Logistics training AOR, be responsible for capturing and overseeing the ongoing development and motivation of all instructors in line with JSP 822: Defence Training and Education Policy and Guidance. Act as the Unit Road Safety Advisor, promoting Road Safety initiatives across the Northern MT Support Hub and representing the Unit at Station MT Road Safety briefs and meetings. Be responsible for the direct supervision of the FTRS JNCO, Logistics (Drivers) and Logistics (Supply), ensuring that CPD and annual reporting processes are completed in accordance with Squadron requirements. Be responsible for facilitating and capturing Level 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 assurance activity across the FS MT Training AOR.
