Responsibilities
* Provide tutorial and pastoral care for groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitor work experience activities.
* Act as Course Leader and take responsibility for the study programme; participate in student assessment and accreditation processes.
* Contribute to curriculum planning and product development as required; deliver and embed Maths and English to SEND to support college strategic objectives.
* Work as part of a team; stay informed about curriculum changes and implications for SEND learning strategies and reforms.
* Develop curriculum to meet changing FE sector demands with evidence of effective student support.
* Manage students with challenging behaviour and communicate effectively at levels appropriate to varied learning abilities.
* Demonstrate knowledge of the accreditation framework and assessment strategies in the post-16 sector, including RARPA; apply information technology and assistive technology to teaching and learning.
* Collaborate with external agencies and participate in assessment and/or IV practices for specialist accreditation.
Qualifications and Experience
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
* Relevant professional qualification and experience with SEND; ability to work in a team and respond to SEND learning strategy changes.
* Experience in curriculum development to meet changing FE sector demands; evidence of providing effective student support.
* Ability to teach and manage students with diverse learning needs; knowledge of accreditation frameworks and IT/assistive tech in teaching.
* Experience with external agencies and assessment/IV practices for specialist accreditation.
