We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Reablement Team based in Bath.
This is a rewarding role within the Reablement Service, a short-term service supporting individuals in their own homes or in Residential or Nursing Homes to maximize and maintain independence through rehabilitation and support.
You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary team including Reablement Therapy Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Care Co-Ordinators, and Administrative support. The team collaborates closely with local GPs and community services such as District Nurses and Social Workers.
This role requires travel around Bath and North East Somerset, so a Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle are essential.
The position is full-time at our St Martins Hospital, Bath. Service hours are from 8.00 to 22.00, with core hours typically 8.00-16.00, and 9.00-18.00 and 8.00-14.00 once weekly.
The service operates seven days a week, and staff are expected to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota, with enhancements for unsocial hours in line with AfC rates.
Main duties of the job
As a Reablement Occupational Therapist, you will:
* Conduct therapeutic assessments, diagnoses, and treatments with patients using person-centered goals.
* Deliver high-standard, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services in community settings, including assessments, care planning, rehabilitation, and therapeutic support.
* Manage your own caseload, working with rehabilitation therapy workers to deliver therapeutic programs.
* Provide supervision to junior staff, including Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Reablement therapy workers.
