Role Overview
The Content Specialist will work within our global corporate communications team and is responsible for developing and implementing a range of content strategies to communicate with key stakeholders. Demonstrable experience of delivering first class corporate communications for websites, blogs, social media and video is preferable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participate in the development and implementation of always on campaigns
2. Participate in the development and implementation of major campaigns
3. Propose multi-channel (blog and social media) and multi-format (long form, text, video, podcast) content ideas to support campaign objectives
4. Conduct the necessary research to create multi-channel/ multi-format content ideas that support MDPIs brand
5. Responsible for ensuring the publishing/sharing/promotion of their content
6. Contribute to the creation of at least four blog posts per month
7. Participate in relevant team meetings on key topics related to workload such as SEO, Content, Campaigns, Performance Metrics
8. Review articles from other contributors, as part of the peer-review system
9. Other comms/content work as required
Skills and Qualifications
10. Bachelor or Master’s degree in any subject.
11. 1+ years of experience of developing, coordinating or creating content in a business setting
12. Good knowledge of blog writing platforms such as WordPress, Substack, Medium etc.
13. Good knowledge of content and communication best practices
14. Good knowledge of SEO best practices
15. Some knowledge of key social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube for business (previous experience of creating content beneficial).
16. Some knowledge of promotion and marketing strategies
17. Excellent English language skills (written and spoken), other language skills are beneficial.
18. Good organizational, analytical and prioritization abilities.
19. Interest in science, science communications and/or the scholarly publishing industry.
