Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse to join the R & D team working 37.5 hours/week supporting the delivery of Clinical Research within the specialities of Rheumatology and Cardiology. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse/AHP to develop their career in non-commercial and commercial clinical research.
The Research and Development Department is dedicated to providing high quality, patient centred, clinical research throughout the Trust.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic registered Nurse ideally with clinical experience in rheumatology, cardiology or research, who is organised, self-motivated and aspires to further their knowledge and career in Clinical Research. You will be involved in all aspects of the research process from study start-up, recruitment and delivery, to closure of a study. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage a research portfolio and implement and recruit to studies across both the Basingstoke and Winchester sites.
Successful applicants can expect an excellent friendly working environment, professional support and development opportunities. Training, mentoring and coaching will be provided to enhance your clinical research skills and knowledge.
Main duties of the job
The role of the research nurse is to assist with the coordination of clinical trials and research studies within this area. As a Research Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in research studies, facilitating high standards of nursing care and promoting the continuity of care of patients involved in these trials alongside a Band 6 Research Nurse.
This will involve recruitment, education and monitoring of trial patients across all HHFT sites and the collection and documentation of accurate research data, all of which must be managed in accordance with ICH, GCP and the EU Directive on Clinical Trials.
