* Salary: National (Edinburgh and Leeds) £52,400‑£61,800; London £57,700‑£68,000 – based on skills and experience.

About the FCA and Team
The FCA regulates financial services firms in the UK, ensuring markets are fair, thriving, and effective. In the Consumer Investments directorate, the CI Market Analysis and Policy (MAP) department leads policy, strategy, and risk identification across the consumer investments market through specialist teams focused on market insights, analysis, advice policy, and distribution policy.


Role Responsibilities

* Design and deliver an annual stakeholder engagement strategy and workplan aligned with Insurance RegCo objectives.
* Create compelling briefings and speeches for senior management to influence key audiences.
* Develop and maintain a dynamic library of success stories and communication lines, supported by robust data, to showcase achievements and amplify strategic narratives across all channels.
* Build and nurture strong relationships with Strategic Communications teams, trade bodies, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration.
* Apply sound judgment to feed insights from stakeholder engagement into analysis and risk horizon scanning, enabling proactive decision‑making.


Skills Required

Minimum

* Experience working with regulation of the general and/or life insurance sectors, from a firm or a regulatory/government/consultancy environment.
* Proven experience drafting speeches for public events and C‑suite audiences.
* Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with senior leaders in the insurance and/or funeral plan sectors.

Essential

* Strong analytical capability, able to draw key messages quickly from a broad strategy.
* Strong written, oral and in‑person communication and influencing skills.
* Ability to produce consistently high‑quality output to tight deadlines.
* Capacity to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and deliver difficult messages.
* Willingness to learn, develop, work at pace and adopt a flexible pragmatic approach.
