Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Research Fellow in Frimley Emergency Department. The role is 75% clinical and 25% non-clinical. We are looking for doctors to start in August 2025.

Study leave: 18 days (10 days general, 5 days private, 3 days for exams/interviews). Study budget: £650 per year.
The emergency medicine rota includes evening, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts. LTFT enquiries are welcome.
Applicants must have at least 24 months of NHS experience. This advert is open to ST1/2 and ST3+ applicants.
Main duties of the job
1. Collaborate with the ED Consultant lead for Trauma & Nurse Lead on audit and quality improvement for trauma management in the ED.
2. Develop strategies, policies, and management guidelines related to major trauma.
3. Analyze data for the National Major Trauma Registry and identify key learnings.
4. Deliver and develop MDT trauma training within the ED, e.g., weekly Tuesday Trauma skills teaching (10@10).
5. Participate in ATLS courses, if appropriate.
6. Facilitate TILS and Trauma Team Leader courses run by the ED Trauma Team.
7. Organize the annual Frimley Resuscitation conference.
8. Co-chair the 3-monthly Trauma Mortality & Morbidity meetings and work on implementing improvement actions.
9. Disseminate learning outcomes to ED and external teams.
10. Collaborate with the ED Trauma Team and IT to develop trauma documentation using the new electronic system.
11. Work with fellow ED trainees to expand experience and support projects.

* Registered with the GMC
* At least 2 years NHS experience
