Job Description
My client is currently on the lookout for an experienced Compliance professional - with a 'generalist' compliance background across both advisory and monitoring aspects - to join them on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure business values are well aligned with a healthy Compliance culture at all times.
* Support the ongoing maturity of first line operations by embedding the core principles associated with consumer finance rules and regulations.
* Develop appropriate controls within the regulatory framework to identify, assess and mitigate any compliance risks to the business.
* Assist with ongoing regulatory horizon scanning and regulatory change initiatives.
* Produce accurate and timely management information (MI) and reporting to internal governance committees such as the Risk Committee.
* Support the development of new business proposals, customer communications, financial promotions, and training materials by providing advisory support to various business functions, and ensuring the operating controls across the business remain compliant.
* Provide accurate and reliable compliance advisory support to all key strategic projects.
* Supporting the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan with robust assurance reviews.
* Provide compliance opinion and challenge at key governance committees.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
* Working understanding of FCA sourcebooks including CONC, DISP, SUP, SYSC and PRIN, as well as good awareness of the Consumer Credit Act.
* Proven experience of working in Consumer Finance regulatory compliance functions.
* Experience of undertaking a combination of advisory and monitoring/assurance tasks.
* Analytically minded with the ability to work proactively and independently.
* Willingly puts the customer at the forefront of decision making processes.
* Good planning, time management and communication skills; strong attention to detail.
* Relevant qualifications/accreditations to the sector (e.g. ICA diploma) is desirable.
* Understanding of the Data Protection Act including UK GDPR would also be beneficial.
