In a period of exciting change, Preston CAMHS are looking to recruit a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner to join the wider multi-disciplinary CAMHS team. This busy, friendly service provides a range of treatment approaches to children and young people aged 0-18 years, including CBT, EMDR, Psychiatry, Psychology, and Family Therapy. We also work in close collaboration with partner agencies.
We work with children, young people, and families up to the age of 18 presenting with a wide range of moderate to severe emotional and mental difficulties. Experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties would be advantageous.
We are committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff. As part of our team, you will have opportunities for various training initiatives, including CYPIAPT.
The hours of work are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. You must be passionate about working with children and young people facing mental health challenges.
Main duties of the job
1. To lead in delivering high-quality services that promote and improve the mental health and well-being of children, young people, their families, and carers.
2. To undertake needs-led, evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions within a systemic and holistic framework for children and young people, including those presenting after deliberate self-harm.
3. To liaise with and support robust partnership working between the CAMHS team and community partners and other agencies involved with the child, ensuring an integrated care package.
4. To develop a high level of generic skills and competencies, and work towards clinical expertise within CAMHS, complementing team members.
5. To provide clinical leadership and supervision to a mixed skill team, fostering a culture of learning and reflective practice.
6. To work with the service manager or team leader to support clinical governance, public health, and NHS modernization agendas.
7. To contribute to safeguarding initiatives within the service in partnership with the Lancashire & South Cumbria safeguarding team.
