We are seeking an experienced Engineering Planner to join a project team delivering a new baggage handling facility at Heathrow Terminal 2. This pivotal technical planning role focuses on developing detailed, buildable construction sequencing plans for a complex, high-profile infrastructure project within a live airport environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and project controls teams to ensure alignment with programme requirements, constraints, and key milestones. This hands-on role requires independent working with no direct line management responsibilities, supporting constructability reviews, programme assurance, and integration of engineering solutions. The planner will identify and manage critical interfaces with existing airport operations and other Terminal 2 projects, participate in risk and opportunity reviews, and deliver high-quality, fully coordinated planning outputs.
Skills:
Proven experience as an Engineering or Project Planner on major Tier 1 infrastructure projects
Strong technical background, ideally progressed from civil, structural, or construction engineering
Expertise in construction sequencing and methodologies in complex, constrained environments
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach
Experience supporting constructability reviews and integrating engineering solutions
Capability to identify and manage key project interfaces and operational constraints
Participation in risk and opportunity management within programmes
Effective communication and delivery of high-quality planning outputs
Software/Tools:
Primavera P6 (industry-standard planning software)
Certifications & Standards:
Not specified but familiarity with Heathrow Airport standards, processes, and operational constraints is desirable
