Previous applicants need not apply. CLOSING DATE: Friday 19th September 2025. Title: Facilities Assistant. Reports to: Team Leader. Salary: RLW £24,570 per annum, pro rata (£12.60 per hour). Hours of work: Part Time - 18.75 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Cleaning communal areas to a good standard, including sweeping, hoovering, dusting, mopping, emptying bins, shampooing carpets, cleaning interior windows and sills, cleaning woodwork and doors, wiping and sanitising surfaces and polishing.
* Cleaning office areas to a good standard, including sweeping, hoovering, polishing, dusting, mopping, emptying bins, cleaning interior windows and sills, cleaning woodwork and doors, cleaning desks and furniture, cleaning cupboards and other storage areas, and polishing.
* Cleaning staff and communal tenant / licensee bathrooms and WCs to a good standard, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, hoovering, wiping and sanitising surfaces, cleaning toilets, sinks, showers, baths, grout and sealant, mirrors and screens, polishing, interior windows and sills, woodwork and doors, fixtures and fittings such as taps and radiators, emptying bins and restocking paper towels and soap.
* Cleaning staff and communal tenant / licensee kitchens to a good standard, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, hoovering, wiping and sanitising surfaces, cleaning sinks, interior windows and sills, woodwork and doors, restocking paper towels and soap, cleaning grout and sealant, mirrors and screens, polishing, fixtures and fittings such as taps and splashbacks, emptying bins, cleaning cupboards, appliances such as fridges, freezers, ovens, hobs and microwaves.
* Washing and laundering communal fabric items or fabric items from voids such as curtains and towels as required.
* Cleaning, drying and storing communal crockery and cutlery as required.
* Cleaning and clearing void properties following the vacation of a tenant or licensee to meet cleanliness standards for re‑let.
* Deep cleaning offices, communal areas, void properties, bathrooms/WCs and kitchens as required.
* Ordering and organising to ensure sufficient cleaning materials and equipment are available for required activities and stored safely in accordance with processes, policies and procedures.
* A good standard of spoken English with the ability to understand written policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Essential: Previous experience as a Facilities Assistant for a housing provider, local authority, hospital, or care home; experience using domestic and commercial cleaning equipment.
* Desirable: Experience of working with vulnerable young people.
* Desirable: GCSE (or equivalent) English at grade 4 or above; Full, current UK Driving Licence.
Knowledge
* Essential: Strong understanding of safe working practices and COSHH requirements.
* Desirable: Knowledge of safeguarding best practice.
* Desirable: Knowledge of lone working best practice.
