Lochlea is an independent family-owned Single Estate Single Malt Whisky Distillery. We are looking to hire a dynamic and strategic Head of Sales (UK & Export) to lead our team and drive business growth. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with a strong background in sales and management to make a significant impact within our organisation.
The Role
We are a small team, so our Head of Sales (UK & Export) needs to enjoy being hands on in addition to developing and executing our sales strategy and growing our revenue. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with key Distributors and Customers. You will have been active in the spirits sector with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in international markets, with a proven track record in growing brands.
Key responsibilities:
· Develop and implement scalable sales strategy aligned with organisational goals to maximise revenue growth
· Lead, motivate and develop a small sales team to ensure high performance and achievement of targets
· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with distributors, customers and stakeholders
· Identify new market opportunities/distributors and drive expansion
· Provide leadership in negotiations, contract discussions and closing deals
· Monitor sales performance metrics regularly and implement corrective actions as necessary
· Collaborate closely with marketing, production and finance to ensure cross-functional alignment
· Prepare accurate sales forecasts and budget plans and pricing strategies
· Represent the company at industry events and market visits
· Travel and weekend working will be expected in this role
About you
· Proven track record as Head of Sales / International BDO
· Experience working in the drinks industry is essential
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in international markets
· Demonstrate success in developing effective sales strategies that deliver measurable results
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions
· Proficiency in languages is preferable but not essential
· Entrepreneurial, dynamic, driven, ambitious and happy to be hands on
